who we are
About Auschidys Disability Africa
Advancing disability inclusion across Kenya through education, health, livelihood, and advocacy.
Our Story
At Auschidys Disability Africa, we believe that disability is not inability. We believe that every child, youth, and adult, regardless of disability, deserves the opportunity to learn, participate, contribute, and thrive within their community.
Founded in Kenya and driven by lived experience, Auschidys Disability Africa is a community-based organisation advancing disability inclusion through a practical, rights-based, and community-led approach. We work alongside children, youth, caregivers, schools, employers, health providers, governments, and development partners to remove barriers and create pathways to meaningful participation for persons with disabilities.
Our work is guided by the principles of Community-Based Inclusive Development (CBID), recognising that lasting inclusion is achieved when communities themselves become agents of change. Through advocacy, inclusive education, health and rehabilitation services, livelihood development, social protection, and community empowerment, we are building environments where persons with disabilities are not merely accommodated but valued, respected, and empowered as equal contributors to society.
our mission
To champion disability inclusion and equity by strengthening communities, empowering families, expanding opportunities, and advancing systems that enable persons with disabilities to reach their full potential.
our vision
An Africa where every person, regardless of disability, enjoys equal opportunities, exercises their rights, and contributes meaningfully to sustainable development.

our founder
A Vision Born from Personal Experience
Martin Kilavi founded Auschidys Disability Africa in the year 2018 with one clear conviction — that every person with a disability deserves the same rights, opportunities, and dignity as anyone else. As a father of children with disabilities, Martin combines personal insight with strategic leadership, turning challenges into opportunities that empower individuals, families, and communities across Kenya.
Through innovative programmes in inclusive education, skills development, healthcare, and social inclusion, Martin has empowered thousands of people with disabilities to overcome barriers and participate fully in society. He developed the pioneering DIET (Disability Inclusive and Equity Training) curriculum — now the backbone of Auschidys’s approach across all five programme pillars.
