With poor or total lack of access to information, many persons with disabilities have not fully engaged with their rights and provisions specifically meant for them, especially in accessing public services.
Most of them, especially those from the underrepresented sector, are unaware of the provisions in the Kenya Constitution 2010 and the mandate of the national and county governments in recognizing, enabling and advancing the rights of persons with disabilities.
At ADA, we will formulate strategies that protect and promote the rights of PWDs in their communities, while creating awareness to both the PWDs and the community in our bid to achieve an inclusive society.
We will influence policy at both national and county levels to advance access to services and equity in opportunities available to all in the public sphere.
ADA will ensure that all the beneficiaries are registered with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, as the first step in ensuring that they enjoy their rights, as envisioned in Article 54 of the Kenya Constitution 2010.
ADA will actively seek partnerships with other organizations and institutions to form collaborations that empower persons with disabilities to live dignified and productive lives.
